East River, Mathews County, VA

The water was like a mirror this morning on the East River. Not a wave, not a ripple. I couldn’t see the separation between water and sky, save the tree line on the far shore.

I made this little painting from a friend’s dock on the east side of the East River facing south. In the far distance is the shores of Yorktown.

Similar to yesterday’s painting, I was wrapped up in subtle shades of blue. These today, yet more subtle and delicate than yesterday.
