In Full Bloom
by admin on Dec.30, 2008, under PAINTINGS
You can see the influence my pastels in this oil painting. This painting was inspired by dreams and a tulip farm near my home.
I began by drawing with oil paint sticks onto a canvas toned with Venetian Red gesso. As in pastel, I used the palms of my hands to rub the pigments down into the tooth of the canvas. I built layers of color with dry oil paint sticks. alternating with thin, translucent oil colors.
In Full Bloom
Oil on canvas, unframed, standard stretchers.
$2400.
